わかりやすい説明
While the product is in your hands — in your warehouse, on its way to you, or on its way to customers — you are responsible for keeping it in conditions that do not compromise its compliance. This is particularly relevant for products with physical tamper-evidence features or hardware security components that could be affected by improper handling.
Legal text
Article 19(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 provides that importers shall ensure that, while a product with digital elements is under their responsibility, storage or transport conditions do not jeopardise its compliance with the essential cybersecurity requirements set out in Annex I or with any other applicable requirement of this Regulation.
Key requirements
- Storage conditions — temperature, humidity, and physical security controls appropriate for the product type
- Transport conditions — packaging and handling procedures that protect integrity
- Tamper evidence — preserve any manufacturer-applied tamper-evident seals or security labels
- Chain of custody — document handling at each stage while under your responsibility
Evidence you may need
- Warehouse storage policy and conditions log
- Transport and logistics procedures documentation
- Inspection records on receipt and prior to dispatch
