Your company name, postal address, and a way to contact you must be on the product or its packaging. For software products, this information can appear in the app or documentation. If your business is outside the EU, you also need to show the details of your authorised representative.

Legal text

Article 13(15) of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 requires that manufacturers indicate the following on the product with digital elements or, where not possible, on its packaging or in an accompanying document:

  • Their name (registered trade name or trademark)
  • Their postal address
  • Their electronic communication means (website or email) where available
  • The single point of contact through which the manufacturer can be reached (may be the same as the vulnerability contact)

For non-EU manufacturers, the name and address of the authorised representative (Article 17) must also be indicated.

Key requirements

  1. Manufacturer name — registered company name, trade name, or trademark
  2. Postal address — registered office or principal place of business
  3. Electronic contact — website URL or email address
  4. Authorised representative details — required for non-EU manufacturers (Art. 17)
  5. Placement — on the product, its data plate, packaging, or accompanying documentation
  6. Single point of contact — the contact displayed should route to a monitored inbox capable of handling CRA-related queries (not a general customer service address)

Non-EU manufacturer note

If you are a manufacturer established outside the EU, you must appoint an authorised representative (Article 17) before placing products on the EU market. The name and EU-based address of the authorised representative must be marked on the product or packaging alongside (or instead of) the non-EU manufacturer's address.

Evidence you may need

  • Product labelling / packaging showing manufacturer details
  • Screenshots of app or software UI showing manufacturer contact information
  • Authorised representative appointment deed (for non-EU manufacturers)
  • Records showing the contact address is monitored and responsive
